What happens if my electric socks get a short circuit?
The Thunderbolt electric sock heating system uses a low voltage, and is current-protected, so short circuits do not present a danger to the user.

Should I leave my electric heated socks plugged in all the time I am outside?
To prolong battery life, only energize the electric socks when you need them. Most people do not turn on the electric socks until they begin to become chilly, thus prolonging battery life.

How about washing the electric socks?
The electric socks should be gently hand washed, to minimize over-flexing of the heating element, followed by drip-drying. This will take a couple of days, so plan ahead! Tip: wear a pair of thin socks underneath, changed daily.

Are different size heated electric socks interchangeable?
Yes, all sizes of electric socks have equivalent heating elements and are interchangeable.

What kind of boots work best with Thunderbolt socks?
The recommended boot type is relatively loose-fitting to allow good circulation to the feet. A PAC-type boot with removable felt liner is ideal, and they are reasonably priced at well under $100. Very expensive subzero type boots are not required.
